Research study evaluates a curcumin (turmeric) medical food for Osteoarthritis discomfort

Great Lakes Clinical Trials is now enrolling a research study that evaluates the effects of a novel curcumin (turmeric) medical food product on the management of discomfort and movement in joints affected by osteoarthritis.

You may be eligible to participate if you are at between the ages of 18-90, have chronic hip or knee discomfort due to osteoarthritis, and have failed traditional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug therapy. This study will evaluate the naturally occurring product in subjects with diagnosed osteoarthritis who are not taking an oral form of NSAID's to see if there are positive effects on managing discomfort.

This study will consist of 3 clinic visits over approximately 8 weeks. You may also receive compensation for time and travel.

This study is enrolling at both our Chicago (Andersonville) clinic and Arlington Heights location on campus of the Lutheran Home.
